Le Seul Amour
05:29
|
|||
There is no one else I'd rather wake next to in the morning sun you outshine the sun.
There is no one else
who can tame my moods
the way you do.
How they shift and they sway, you lift me right up
I understand that the world is a funny place. We've got to find a way to keep it together. If we're ever going to make it to spring.
I've seen the world split down the seams and pour out stars. How they dance around your head
a perfect halo in bloom
I see the world
through the things you do and it's full of love.
You light me right up.
I understand that the world is a funny place we've got to find a way to keep it together
if we're ever going to make it to spring
There ain't no problem so big we can't solve it.
And I know we're going to make it to spring.

Love Me The Way You Do
06:42
|
|||
There are days
where my heart feels broken and dogs wander streets chewing on their sagging skin.
There ain’t nothing,
what can love me like you do.
Words we once spoke
lay crooked now
a bone in our throats
and there’s no time to feed these dogs, to feed them all and stroke their coats.
There ain’t nothing,
what can love me like you do.
And when it’s done,
will I still have a friend in you?
And when I’m lost,
will you still come and rescue me? Because all of these puppies,
will die in the sparkling dew.
So, if you leave,
please feed them like I do.
Because there is nothing,
what can love me you like I do.

Again, Light And Spectre
05:51
|
|||
There's a woman who's pacing in the spaces in my walls.
And though I've never seen her, I hear her muted calls.
I wonder what she looks like a soft or hardened face.
In abstenia forever,
her world is half erased.
I don't know what I'm doing here. I just want to disappear.
There's a world out my window in the whiteness of the day,
a nervous robin nest building with some scraps along the way.
A predator comes so swiftly.
I watch the nest, it falls.
With the mother now missing, her babies' chirps and calls such tiny fragile calls
I don't know what I'm doing here. I just want to disappear
It's happening again.
I know it's just my luck.

She Came To Leave
04:54
|
|||
She sits in the sun
on the good end of town. She sits in her nook she's reading a book about bad, bad men
She's out with her friends
they drink and they laugh. When she's out with her friends, the good times don't end,
they just go on and on
Oh, isn't it tragic
when love loses magic? Life goes on.
She finds a new man
and they're out for the night, but in the end, disappointment sets in
and she goes home alone.
When she's in her bed and she's with her dog, when she's in her bed, bad thoughts fill her head that she might die alone
Oh, isn't it tragic
when love loses magic? Life goes on.

Of Want And Mystery
03:58
|
|||
No one is speaking
or making a sound.
No one is fighting
when you're not around. Please stay clear of me stay miles away
Always, I wait for you. Quietly, I wait for you.
The cat is not sleeping
she's crawling around.
The floorboards are creaking such a lonely sound.
Please stay clear of me
stay miles away
Always, I wait for you.
Quietly, I wait for you.

What's The Point
04:33
|
|||
He's caught up in work now,
one thousand miles away.
When he's depressed, he's a touchless lover
and all but falls away,
In these times, he does complain his mind is in a foggy tangled mess.
She's bought a new house there,
in her old home town.
Midcentury decorator,
she has no plans to move out.
She calls him up to complain the contractors want more than they'd agreed.
But they're both in love
and they'll make it work,
Not much longer now, he'll find himself a new job. The promises he makes to her are the only things that keep her holding on.
With all the miles between them, the years that come and go. They're dedicated to their idea, the stress it starts to show.
Their friends all think they're insane, and so it is her heart begins to stray.
Her mind is filling with darkness,
as her cat dies in her arms.
She needs someone who's closer to her to hold her when times are hard.
She finds herself another plan,
a new disaster not so far away.
He keeps waiting around though
like some kind of jerk.
Operational misconception,
he thinks he'll make it work
She's found herself another one and wonders why he doesn't do the same.
What is the point in loving anything When it all just fades away?

And if the sun
should rise again,
I hope it stays
For a long, long time.
Because it's been such a very long time, since I felt such warmth on me.
And it's so cold.
I could really use the sun right now.
And if I should wake up,
deaf, dumb, and blind,
I hope the last thing I see
is the color of your eyes.
Because it's been such a very long time, since I've seen you smile at me.
And it's so goddamned cold.
I could really use a friend right now.
